Sorry in advance for this long post but if it wasn't so funny it would be sad.
I'm 66 and a breast cancer survivor for almost 20 years now, and when your 65 you no long have to have the dreaded PAP tests done, but the Nurse warned me, "if you ever start bleeding, it's most-likely cancer so if it happens, make an appointment.
It happened and since I'm military getting an appointment is free, but takes for ever. I knew I had cancer and I would google it and read everything, and had all the symptoms, it was probably ovarian cancer, my friend had just died of Ovarian cancer. I took out my will and started to update it.
So, finally got in to see my doc and she just shook her head, No you probably don't have cancer, but just to make you feel better, Ill send you for a CT scan.
(long wait, long wait, long wait)
Finally got the scan done.
Got a call from my doc. Lynne your fine, BUT we see something on your lung. You need to come in so I can order some more tests.
(long wait, long wait, long wait)
Get in to see her and she said she wants to send me to a Pulmonologist, but not to worry
NOT WORRY, now I know I've got lung cancer. I have "something' on my lung, what else could it be. Make an appointment to see the lung guy.
(long wait, long wait, long wait) He sends me for a Lung CT scan. Comes back, something is there but they want me to have a PET CT scan but by the way, PET scans may cause cancer.
I don't care, I want to know.
Short wait.
PET scan comes back, it doesn't show cancer, might want to repeat in 3 to 6 months BUT there is something on my thyroid.
Long story is having a biopsy on the 9th.
